Ann Sudmalis announces Federal grant
12 March 2019

The Liberal National Government commits to invest $1,700,000 as part of the Placemaking for Vincentia Village project.
Ann Sudmalis announcement:
The Shoalhaven City Council has responded to community input and successfully applied for matched grants and two great projects have been given the go-ahead!!
I am so proud that the Liberal National Government has committed to invest $1,700,000 as part of the project, Placemaking for Vincentia Village, worth $3,444,246. This is not an election promise! This is a delivered funding grant, as soon as council has followed up with the contracts.
“Placemaking” for Vincentia is the name given by council to the renewal of the original Vincentia Shopping Centre.
Renewing the Village has been driven by residents & small business, the Vincentia Village pedestrian mall will be transformed by collaborative place making to allow alfresco dining, night-time economic activity, a market place, an area for entertainment & recreational activities & a children's play space. The project will give an outdated & pinched space a kick-start through the construction of a multi-dimensional, attractive & fully accessible hub for young & old, local & visitor alike.
Located within metres of picturesque Jervis Bay, the design & landscaping will take advantage of magnificent vistas & reflect the natural character of its setting. The project will increase tourist visitation & community use, to support the local & regional economy, by creating local jobs.
